Moonrise behind Danube Tower

from €45.00

I was always fascinated by images of the moon, where you can see the details of its surface. When I started to photograph the moon myself, I realised how difficult it is to get the balance right. It requires some degree of planning, so you know exactly when and where the moon is appearing.

It’s the Danube Tower in Vienna, photographed from Nussdorf. There is only a small window every year, where this shot is possible. Before I took it, I was worried that it won’t be possible because there were a few clouds in the sky as the moon was approaching the top of the Danube Tower. Luckily the clouds were really thin and the moon just shined through. Now it looks like the moon is between the Tower and the clouds.

This image is printed on Hahnemuhle Baryta FB Paper (350g/m²). It’s minimally textured and has an extremely smooth surface. In combination with the high-gloss premium inkjet coating, it produces excellent print results.
